Why Vote in Judicial Elections

We Choose Our Judges

In Texas, we elect our judiciary by popular vote. That means that voters decide who will resolve disputes and administer justice in our communities. Who we pick as our judges directly impacts how and whether our rights are protected and our laws are respected.

Efficient, Ethical Courts Protect Our Legal System

Legal cases should be heard in an efficient manner by impartial, ethical judges, who will not be swayed by power, prestige, prejudice, or personal interests. Having appellate-court justices who reliably adhere to the law encourages excellent performance at the trial-court level and provides a backstop for missteps.

Experience and Worldview Matter in Our Judiciary

Everyone has a belief system and those systems impact our actions. Only justices with a worldview rooted in truth, freedom, and equality before the law will faithfully uphold those principles and our laws in the courtroom. A candidate’s experience (i.e. how he or she has chosen to steward their time and resources) indicates their worldview and what they value.

“I am an experienced and hard-working lawyer with a faith and worldview that call me to pursue truth, value the rule of law, and serve others. I’m no politician but have chosen to run because I believe that we must actively protect our judicial system by selecting judges who consistently exhibit and pursue excellence and integrity.  We can’t sit out these elections.
